Submersible water bore problem

Tree roots damage submersible water bore

Virgin Water Bores love a challenge and can fix your broken submersible water bore.

We were called to this bore service job in the northern suburbs and our winch was struggling to lift what should have been a relatively easy submersible pump to remove. We were not sure what was causing the problem. It can be stuck due to lightning induction or a lightning strike which has caused the pump motor to become swollen. Sometimes the stainless steel draw-wire has snapped and occasionally there is entangled electrical cable that causes the stuck pump.

However as you can see in this case there is a massive tree root problem. There’s one thing that should never be in a water bore and that is tree roots. We very rarely see this so imagine our surprise when we found at this bore service job. It was quite an old bore in a northern Perth suburb we presume drilled several decades ago.

We did get it to budge eventually. Somehow tree roots had entered through split bore casing or maybe through a crack just below the surface. the roots had certainly entered somewhere above the water table and taken the easiest route down for a drink. We have a specialist team equipped with winches designed for any problem and the broken submersible water bore was back to good working order.

This is photo is proof of why correct design and installation of any water bore is essential. If you have a broken bore give one of our expert team a call on 9246 0111.
