Perth bore automation a specialty 9246 0111
A lot of old Perth Bores are operated manually. Particularly the centrifugal pump bores in the old concrete well liners. Often the water bore pump is turned on by a simple switch near or in the electrical meter box or on the wall next to the bore. This switch will be a D.O.L (Direct On Line) starter if the bore pump is three phase. These D.O.L bore starters commonly have a red and green stop and start button. Some single phase bore pumps are turned on by a simple switch that looks like a light switch.
In turn the properties sprinkler system may be switched from station to station (section or zone), often front and rear yards, by manual gate valves in the ground. In the above picture these gate valves are in the foreground.
We can automate these old Perth Bores and sprinkler retic systems. Our electrician installs a modern digital reticulation controller (timer) to automatically turn on the bore pump. Most often we have to modify or replace the D.O.L starter to accept a 24 volt start signal from the reticulation controller.
Hydrawise Controllers
Becoming very popular are the new Hydrawise internet enabled reticulation controllers. Using the homes Wi-Fi these controllers can be operated from any linked smartphone.
Once we have the bore automated then if the sprinkler system has manual gate valves or taps to switch from one station to another we replace these with automatic solenoid valves that are also operated from the newly installed reticulation controller.
How much does it cost to automate a bore?
We have automated hundreds of Perth bores and retic systems over the years. Simple Perth bore automations can start from as little as $380 right through to $1500 or even more if multiple solenoid valves need installing and access for cabling is difficult.
