Como Water Bore
Today our drilling team drilled another new Como Water Bore. The 100mm bore casing can be seen here in the foreground still sticking out of the ground. The bore casing will be cut down to below ground level and the stainless steel submersible pump will then be installed in the casing. The finished submersible bore will have a small a4 sized access lid just under the lawn. It will be silent and invisible. Normally we would drill a new bore closer to the house meter box to minimize the cable run and cost of electrical connection to 240v power. In this case though the owner is considering further subdivision and perhaps a new house on the front. The water table here was anticipated at 16 metres. After drilling static water level was measured at 14 metres. We drilled and cased to 28 metres with the bottom 6 metres fitted with class 9 PVC slotted casing around which we gravel packed with Carnarvon river sand as a primary filter. We then air developed this new Como water bore to flush it out. This proved up a very good supply of fresh groundwater.
Submersible Pump
Next week we will fit this new Como water bore with a 1.1kw submersible pump and motor which will deliver about 80 litres per minute from that water depth. Following that we are installing a new reticulation system to the front lawn using robust gear-drive sprinklers. In another couple of months you won’t recognize this house with a lush green lawn.
