Drilling bore through limestone in City Beach on the Perth coast.
Virgin Bores have specialized local knowledge and equipment to guarantee the drilling of successful water bores up and down the Perth coastal strip. Here we are in City beach drilling a 63 metre deep garden water bore. Because of the incline we had no alternative but to drill in the front driveway of this steeply sloping block in City Beach. The static water table was measured at 46.5 metres which is within a metre of our prediction. Very deep to water here as a consequence of the elevation of the block high up on a hill. We enjoyed great ocean views whilst we drilled the bore! It took two days to drill through the quite hard limestone. We air developed the bore and proved up a great supply of good fresh groundwater.
Watch as the drilling rig powers through the limestone already 40 metres below the surface. Note the 100mm white PVC bore casing in the left foreground which will line the borehole upon completion of drilling. The coiled up roll of 40mm black poly pipe seen in the right foreground will serve as the rising main to deliver the bore water to the surface.

In the coming days we will install a 1.5kw submersible pump. Next our electrician will connect the bore to mains power and interface it for auto start from the clients existing reticulation controller.
